Today, Monday, December 18, 2023, a meeting of the Board of Directors of the University of Algiers 3 was held at the Faculty of Information and Communication Sciences, chaired by Professor Mohamed Bezzina. The meeting was attended by the university director, Professor Khaled Rouaski, his deputies, deans of faculties, the institute director, counselors, and board members representing various ministries, local elected representatives representing teachers, students, and workers. The agenda of the meeting included the following topics:
- Discussion of the operating budget balance for the year 2023
- Discussion of the budget for 2024
- Project to restructure the Faculty of Economics
- Project to restructure the Institute of Physical Education and Sports
- Project to create subsidiary institutions
- Miscellaneous
In his opening speech, the president of the Board of Directors, Professor Mohamed Bezzina, thanked the university director for the warm welcome, calling on the board members to produce outcomes that would serve the university and enhance its status.
The university Director Professor Khaled Rouaski, affirmed in his speech to the board members that the university is undergoing significant and ambitious transformations, and the outcomes of the board will be a significant gain for the university. Subsequently, the university secretary-general, Mr. Abdelkader Cheddad, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the university’s consumption of the 2023 budget, then presented an overview of the 2024 budget project. The dean of the Faculty of Economics presented a detailed presentation on restructuring the faculty into two faculties, while the director of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports presented a restructuring project to transform the institute into a faculty. On his part, the financial advisor to the university president gave a presentation on the creation of subsidiary institutions within the university for training and consultations. The board members then engaged in a discussion on all presentations, with approximately 100 interventions in the form of questions, requests for clarification, and suggestions. The university director responded in detail to all the questions raised. At the end of the meeting and after five hours of discussion, the Board of Directors unanimously approved the following:
- The university budget for the year 2024
- The restructuring of the Faculty of Economics into two faculties
- The restructuring of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports into a faculty
- The creation of subsidiary institutions within the university for training and consultations.
In conclusion, the president of the board, Professor Bezzina, thanked all the board members, wishing the University of Algiers 3 every success in achieving its aspirations and realizing the outcomes of the board.
